What is a web portal?

A web portal or business portal is a web-based application that collects information from different sources and provides that information to employees, customers or suppliers via a single point of access. The web portal is designed to replicate company branding and can be accessed quickly and easily on a desktop or mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet.
Web portals are used in many different areas including:

  • Marketing portals
  • Partner portals
  • Patient portals
  • Government portals
  • Sales portals
  • Intranet portals
  • Corporate portals

As an example, a business might have many partners that they work with. These partners need lots of information and collateral to enable them to function effectively. This information is spread across many different sources and touchpoints all with different access requirements. A partner portal brings together these common services and applications into one place for the partners to access. This simplifies the process for partners while improving security and efficiency for the brand.

Progression Monitor

Progression Monitor is a standalone tool designed to help agencies and stakeholders collaborate on projects in a central location. It was designed for our client who couldn't find what they needed among the many off the shelf project management packages available. They needed one solution that would let them instruct their agencies and also manage the sign off process with their internal stakeholders. The solution we developed for them matched their exact way of working, and controlled the levels of permissions tightly so that people could only see what was relevant to them.

Co-brander

Our client markets their solutions through many partners and resellers. They asked us to create an online partner hub to include latest news, pricing and product information. Our client required a full CMS solution to allow them to add content themselves. The solution also had a function called ‘Marketing Suite’ that allowed marketing materials (such as emails and PDFs) to be uploaded for partners to rebrand and share. Crucially, only certain sections of these materials were editable, meaning the communications could not compromise our client’s prestigious brand.
